Genesis is a state-of-the-art TCP/IP stack for the Amiga computer. Its impressive feature list includes easy-to-use support for multiple dialup Internet accounts on one Amiga, an incredibly easy setup process and the powerful features of the underlying AmiTCP kernel. Genesis offers built in dialup Internet connectivity and/or local area networking (with enhanced SANA-II), at the same time - it offers the features that the power user with multiple systems wants, like a more secure kernel, and provided Socks 4/5 client (a Socks server is available as a downloadable option free of charge), with simplicity enough for a beginner to get onto the Internet easily for the first time. Genesis is fully compatible with existing Amiga Internet software. Based on the recognised and established AmiTCP Professional kernel (v4.6), Genesis offers the highest possible compatibility with other net products - there is no need for AmiTCP emulation! The kernel has been secured to prevent Denial Of Service attacks over the Internet such as SYN flooding, IP fragment attacks, land and fist attacks, as well as IP spoofing. Voyager 3 is the latest incarnation of this popular web browser. Simply put - Voyager is fast. Its speed comes from a custom-designed output class which takes advantage of MUI functions to deliver the best performance using the least resources. This, combined with CPU optimised image decoder modules, results in the fastest possible performance. Voyager has always been an industry leader, rather than follower. It was the first Amiga web browser to support frames, also the first to support secure transactions via SSL, first to support the HTTP/1.1 standard and first to support Shockwave/Flash. New Voyager 3 features include: Javascript 1.3, (implemented as a nifty just-in-time bytecode compiler for maximum efficiency on our dusty 680x0 class machines), a heavily improved GUI, new plugin, Shockwave Flash player, SSLv3/TLSv1 security (utilising OpenSSL) and new bookmark system using CManager.mcc. Microdot-II is an integrated email and news program, using the same familiar interface to to integrate news, mail and mailing lists 'as one', performing real threading of email or news correspondence to make it easier to follow conversations between multiple people. Microdot-II is easy to use for the novice user, with the most common functions assigned to toolbar buttons at the bottom of each window. These toolbars are fully configurable for the power user, and may be set up to perform any function they like, including the use of ARexx functions from Microdot-II's large function base. Microdot-II supports the multi-user feature of Genesis, allowing multiple users to use one copy of Microdot-II, but with multiple password based accounts. Full PGP and Contact Manager support. mFTP is a File Transfer Protocol client that allows the transferring of files from one computer to another. Some sites may be restricted, requiring the use of an assigned user name and password, while most sites (such as business and corporations) allow anonymous FTP, in which you will usually give your email address as the password. mFTP also allows you to upload files to any remote computer. This is an ideal way to maintain your web page, uploading files and pages. Supporting date/file check, 'resume' and (soon) directory copying, it enables professional web site and remote file maintenance. mFTP's interface will suit both the 'old school' dual-window AmFTP style interface and the newer multiple server window approach. With this asynchronous multi-window design, you are able to transfer files between server windows (ie. from remote host to another remote host) and between more than one remote server to one local window, at the same time. Another unique feature is the independent batch window. Separate from the other windows, you are able to perform actions from any server window, within this one batch window. For instance you are able to drag files from more than one server to the window, download at the same time, whilst continuing to surf FTP sites for further files, which can then be dragged to the list for transfer. With hundreds of FTP sites on the Internet and millions of files stored at those sites, how would someone ever find a specific file? Using mFTP's inbuilt ADT find is the answer! ADT is a unique system for the Amiga, allowing you to locate the last 7 or 14 days, or 'recent' uploads to the Aminet, and even to locate specific files. mFTP's advanced ADT module also allows you to filter files based on specific keywords. AmIRC is said to be 'the' IRC client on any platform. Its main strength is its interface - it's one of the easiest IRC clients to use on any platform, yet it also keeps the power users happy with advanced ARexx scripting and its plugin API, allowing unique new features to be added. It also features a URL grabber to capture any URLs mentioned in any channels or query windows, a lag-o-meter to measure your system's lag from the server, and strong builtin flood protection including a staggered output queue to stop you flooding yourself off the server. AmChat is a direct person-to-person or person-to-people chat client for the Amiga. You are to enter a list of users that you want to be notified once they connect to the Internet, and these users are shown as 'available' or 'unavailable'. You are then able to chat to these users, send them a message, a file or even chat to multiple users about particular topics. MetalWeb is the first WYSIWYG HTML editor for AmigaOS. The philosophy behind the software is that you should not need to understand HTML in order to create pages within MetalWEB. You can create web pages via a DTP style editor or the 'old way' via a tabbed, coloured text based source window. Indeed, like the award-winning Dreamweaver� you can open both the edit and source window, work within one of the windows, whilst the other window updates, automagically! Even better, highlight an area (ie. some text) within the editor window, and the specific HTML source is updated concurrently. MetalWeb also ships with a MetalMap module, allowing you to create advanced imagemaps, via an easy to use interface. Telnet is the underlying TCP/IP protocol used whenever you are accessing computers across the Internet. Browsing the web or using an FTP client (such as mFTP) allows you to request specific files from remote computers, but not to actually be logged on as a user of that computer. With AmTelnet, you can log on as a regular user with whatever privileges granted you to use the specific applications and data on that computer. This is usually the case with Unix shell servers. As system security becomes more of a concern worldwide, the newer standard of SSH (Secure SHell) emerged. SSH encrypts the data which usually is transmitted from server to client as cleartext. Until now, the only way to use SSH to securely access remote computers on the Amiga was to use a port of the Unix client. Now, however, AmTelnet provides this functionality. The Contact Manager is a unique product for the Amiga, supported by a number of programs contained within NetConnect. It is best described as a diary / address book which allows you to store all your contacts' user information, favourite web & ftp sites and IRC server/channels. It has been designed as a replacement to all the different bookmarks, addressbooks and similar GUI's that are built into the many different Amiga Internet and comms programs. Contact Manager is versatile enough to work as an API between other, non net related programs. For instance setup an arexx script in Wordworth to pool information to mail merge into documents. ie. say you want to send a standard document to a number of friends, simply create a script that grabs names and addresses from the 'users' section within Contact Manager, then merge and print them to your document. Contact Manager offers a number of features not found in many of the internal bookmark/addressbooks, as seen below.
NetInfo-II is a network information viewer utility. It integrates the functionality of the well known standalone Traceroute, Ping, Whois and Finger programs into one seamless GUI application. Instead of gathering the information about a host and the Internet route to it manually, you just enter a hostname and click Start. NetInfo-II does the rest for you! WebVision is a viewer program for a fairly recent phenomenon on the World Wide Web - web cameras. Web cameras are recorded images published on the web and updated at regular intervals. They may show everything from a TV channel or somebody's living room to the weather in a city in northern Norway. You can view these images with a regular webbrowser, you can even have it update the page at regular intervals, but WebVision offers a more specialised and optimised approach. Web camera sites are configured in a special window and viewing one opens a dedicated window, which is sized exactly to fit the camera image. Update delay, save directory and other parameters are easily configured individually for each camera. An Internet update server is available that allows you to exchange sites with other WebVision users. At the last count, this database contained over 250 webcams, with more being added all the time. Octopus is a centralised dock management system which is at the heart of the NetConnect package (NetConnect ships pre-setup with an 'Internet' dock bar). Create multiple dock bars that can be placed at any location within your Workbench environment. These dock bars can have buttons using numerous different styles: create an image only bar, a text only bar, buttons with customised backgrounds, buttons that launch rexx scripts, buttons that will store and open a URL (via OpenURL), buttons that will start other button banks (for instance, you could have a button that is called 'Graphics' that launches another button bank containing your graphics programs) and more. You can have borderless bars, bars that are always frontmost, horizontal, vertical or square bars. Octopus also has the easiest-to-understand preferences system for any dock bar manager. What is NetConnect? NetConnect v2 is the easiest and most comprehensive Internet compilation designed to enable any Amiga user, from novice to expert level, to get onto and use the Internet. Based around 12 commercial programs (including the dock bar), and worth over £150 if bought separately, you are given all you will need to get the most from the Internet. By using the new Genesis Wizard, a user should be able connect to the Internet in a matter of minutes. Ideal for both an Internet or local area network connection.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers Do we need to register any of the software? No. All the core (eleven commercial programs) are commercially licensed for you (except MUI which is shareware). Do we receive the latest versions of the modules on NetConnect? You get the very latest software right up until the day before we go to press. All software is thoroughly beta tested before it is used, however. Will we receive updates of new versions of the NetConnect software? Yes. If there are any bug-fixes you receive updates. If there are any minor enhancements (which there will be!), you receive free updates. This is the same as any commercial software. However, you only receive these updates if you have sent back your registration card. Is NetConnect for New Users or Existing Internet Users? NetConnect is flexible - it is very easy to install and use for new users (beginners) and non-Internet users, yet it is also quite advantageous for existing Internet users to purchase NetConnect. Why? As it offers a complete suite of Internet software (which is supported, and you will receive upgrades), the software is brought together with one icon bar and many of the preferences are centralised. This eases Internet use. NetConnect was designed as a suite of software for a beginner wanting to connect to the Internet and a new user (who has connected) who wants a complete suite of commercial software. Why is NetConnect so expensive? It isn't when you think what NetConnect contains! A full TCP stack (worth around £30), Voyager web browser, industry standard AmFTP and AmIRC, the best mail/news client on the market, superb telnet client, easy-to-use new comms software, the amazing X-Arc, AmTalk and, of course, the NetConnect GUI and icon bar - making using the Internet a doddle. Remember to look out for special NetConnect promotions in your favourite Amiga magazine where you will be to take advantage of special discounts and so on! Can we use other internet software with NetConnect? Yes, no problem. We are using the industry standard AmiTCP which supports all Internet software for the Amiga. Also, the NetConnect icon bar allows you to configure and launch any program. As the programs are keyfile based, you can easily use, for example, Miami instead of the supplied AmiTCP-Genesis. I have heard that AmiTCP is difficult to configure? It used to be! We first started the NetConnect project in March 1996 and have spent around two years not only adding a GUI to AmiTCP but also working with NSDi (authors of the original AmiTCP) to change the design, features, security and usability of the package! One of the advantages is that programs such as Microdot-II can now read and understand your user information. Do you offer support after buying NetConnect? Of course!
